Off Topic / Green Bay/ Door County Info?
« on: December 12, 2011, 06:00:37 PM »
Going to the Packers/Lions game on New Years Day.  My wife and I were planning on driving down the Morning before and spending New Years Eve somewhere down that way.  Looking for any inside info on that area and places we should check out(other than the Tiara Dealership in Sister Bay) to spend New Years Eve.  I wouldnt mind going up to Door County for the night and there seems to be some cool places up there near Sturgon Bay, but a first hand recomendation would be even better. Looking for a place with some good live music and preferably a place there, or close by to stay the night.

Anybody have any good suggestions for that area??

Hunting / Trapping / BACKSTRAPS!!
« on: November 18, 2011, 09:11:57 AM »
Spent the last 2 1/2 seasons trying to get this guy to screw up!  Hundreds of different trail cam pics since December of the 09' season in 5 different locations....and not 1 during the day. 80+ hunts in 4 different set-ups.  Smart son of a b**ch just wouldn't mess up!

Here he was last October under my Bow Stand...

This was the first I seen of him this year at the end of June...

And here in July...

End of July...

Then in Early August...

---And by FAR, the BEST Trail Cam pic of him EVER...
My camera just so happened to take a picture right as 220 grains of Win Mag were hitting him behind the shoulder!!  He went down back first, and then the front, and died in his tracks.  I almost sh*t when I saw the pic on the camera!  He was headed for the scent wick in the tree up in front of him.

Had him checked in at the DNR station this morn and the word is...  5.5 yrs old, 178lbs. dressed, 18.5" spread, and 33" neck.  Shot within 20 minutes of my house. wink()  He came out of the thicket and went STRAIGHT to my Tinks Line!  While his nose was in the first one I was able to get ready, and then he walked right over the top of the bait and was headed for the next Scent Wick when...  Feels good to chase a single deer for that long and have it pay off!  I was sure when I finally saw him it would be in the bed of somebody elses truck.  I'll be damned....

Boat and Tackle Setups / Upholstery Work/Boat Top
« on: November 06, 2011, 09:56:45 AM »
Figured I would post back and say I am VERY happy with the work I had done at Great Lakes Upholstery in Negaunee by Scott.  He did exactly what I asked him to do, used the highest quality materiel's available, and did it all at a fair price.  I would highly reccomend his work to anyone.  Thanks to the people on this site who suggested him to me.

Now the work begins all over....  Running all 20+ wires and cables back onto the top for Radar, GPS, VHF, ect...  Fun Stuff   At least I have all winter to get it done, and now have PLENTY of headroom to walk around!  :drunk:

Lake Superior / Big Dog...

Caught on a "Barney" FINN Spoon on 12lb. Test line behind a rigger....at the perfect speed, correct depth, and of coarse, the right location....within 4 miles of my slip. wink()

22+lbs at the dock and 39" long.  Had the boat slowed to 1mph for most of the fight just to gain some line on him.  Thanks to Keith,("diverdaddy" on UPAngler) for a great time with a great crew!  You guys were a blast....even after a monsoon for 3 hours and 3-4 footers from the NE   There was a reason we were the only boat out there....but it was worth it!  And Happy Birthday Keith!

Heres just a little Fish Porn for your veiwing pleasure   :drunk:

26lbs. and goin on the wall.  We actually had it planned to release him when he got it to the boat.  But after netting him and finding the Moonshine Spoon so far down his throat I couldnt even see the swivel, he had no chance.

This was the Big Dog from yesterday.  I was bouncing the scale a bit so he could see it hit 30lbs.....but at the Dock when we hung him up he was 29.2   I told the guy.....here, throw this bait out there now.  He laughed!  Fished for 30 minutes without a strike.  Just when he was gonna call me out..... ZZZZZZZZZ.  And to the bottom he went!  Thats a 12" long, 6oz. Plastic Swim Bait with double 1/0 Trebles!  The fish hit the bait within view of the surface!  I only let him use my "Stannard Rock SWR" because he had a Tiara Shirt on  wink()

So when you boyz are done chasin Silver down South....The Rock awaits you  wink()
