Manistique Marina
« on: May 20, 2013, 09:17:22 AM »

I just called to reserve my slip for the month of July and wanted to pass along some info...

The harbormaster said that the water in the marina is as low, if not lower than it was last summer/fall, and probably as low as he's ever seen it this time of year.  However, bids have been approved, and dredging is supposed to begin within 1-2 weeks.  Last year only 1/2 the marina was even accessible, so it'll be nice to have a full 8' of water all the way through it this summer!  They are also starting the construction of a new restroom/shower facility, as well as a pavillion with other ammenities.  Along with their well cared for and ALWAYS operational fish cleaning station, the marina improvements will sure be nice, and will help draw more people to their city. (What a novel idea, eh Marquette...)

Thanks for the info, John!  Hopefully along with dredging they will improve the docks and try to utilize the space better for more slips!

Does anybody have any updates or info about the Manistique Marina?  We're looking for options for boat dockage for July/August this year!  Thanks in advance.
