Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the opener is tomorrow. I have a new 8 wt that is waiting to toss some leech and crayfish patterns first thing in the morning.

Got into some sick bass fishing tonight. Caught 40 bass. 30 were keepers. My biggest was 21 inches. I also caught 2 steelhead and lost a nice brown at my net. Awesome fishing for only and hour and a half! Best I have ever done. I had to take the split shot off for the trout to hit it so the bass wouldn't. Fun to fight them. All fish were released!

Keep at it for a few more days. Gotta say you got one in June this year. The Manistique has one of the longest steelhead fisheries I have ever seen anywhere. We have had 4 solid months of action Feb till now. Tactics change but the fish always seem to be there. Nice catch.

I got one today about 21-23 inches and was a good 3 pounds. I've been getting well over my limit each day since opener. A bass took off with my stringer in it's mouth! i wonder if anyone will catch em' ? Hey kyle, I saw " you know who" snagging steelies today. he was bragging to me that he got 2 already' He should really learn how to fish.

Guys:

My 9-year-old is bugging me to take him bass fishing. Haven't targeted much in the past. If anyone could pm with some tips (where to go, what techniques, etc.), I'd appreciate it. Not looking for exact GPS coordinates to your favorite spots--just some ideas to give us a good start on things.
