Has anybody had any luck on crappies lately? Have they spawned already?

been slow around here for me last two times out.  Was doing well.  Last trip out, the few caught had little to no eggs up here.  Heard from my buddy in central U.P. they are loading their boats on the small lakes right now.  Said his last three trips were 28, 25 and 26 fish.

Have gotten them pretty steady in Mqt for a while now too, gotta find them, but when you do, you can fill the boat in a short time.

A little different than salmon for sure but the little buggers sure are good fried.  Try them with Louisiana New Orleans Fish Fry Mix with lemon.  You can get it at Gander.  YUM.

Apparently the guts after you clean them are excellent crawfish bait as well as long as it is fresh too.

Took my daughter (6 yrs old) fishing for Crappie today.  I went yesterday and found a pretty active school of them so I took her today.  She thought a brush pile looked pretty good (I pointed the boat at the pile I had found the day before) and she layed a nice cast in there and proceeded to catch a quick 15 crappie.  Can't get her to help clean them yet but she has a blast with every other part of it including eating.
