Big Manistique Lake
« on: July 05, 2011, 10:45:31 PM »

Hey I'll be up on Big Mano Lake on Thursday and Friday and was wondering how the walleye's were biting.  Heard the bite was good though.  What are they catching on?  Is trolling or jigging better and colors would be helpful through I perfer to troll.  Hotspots would be great as well.  Hopefully we can get my brother some fishon action!

Thanks in advance!

There are tons of boats catching tons of fish.  You should be able to catch fish trolling.  harnesses have been good.  The reports I have heard lately is that the bite is best early in the evening or later in the morning.  dawn and dusk have been slower.  You will find fish.  Good luck.

Had great weather yesterday evening and this morning on Big Manistique Lake.  Ended the day with 4 pike that were too small, about 22" average though and one walleye that was too small.  Lots of boats sitting around but we looked like the only ones catching any so that was nice for a change

Spent all last week at my cabin on Big Manistique.

Fishing was much slower than earlier this spring.  We managed to catch about 5-6 walleyes, but no keepers.  Plenty of nice small mouth, plus plenty of pike.

Tons of boats around....the word is out that the fishing there has been good this year.
