trip to seattle 3rd week of september
« on: August 26, 2017, 11:34:49 AM »

Am headed west for a week to visit family and am wondering if anyone on the site has ever fished for salmon in seattle area rivers.  I found plenty on charters but not much info on river opportunities.  Is it worthwhile to pack some gear and do some wading?  Reports say that this is the right time to catch fish.  Lucky for the fish I am pretty much clueless as to where to go and how to catch them.  Any advice would be appreciated.  You can message me or post.

Rivers in that immediate area are generally deep, wide, and do not provide a lot of shore access...

The same tactics we use on the rivers here will be effective out there. Like he said rivers are much deeper and wider so a 12+ float rod would be needed. I would reccomend calling the tackle shop nearest to where your trying to fish and see if you can get some info out of them. Or book a day of wade fishing with a guide and get info that way, then fish on your own the next few days after learning a bit. Good luck!
