Had a great opener in the gwinn area today me and my brother got to the lake at 4pm and by 7pm we had 8 walleye smallest was 18in, biggest was 23in also got a 28 in pike best day ever for me walleye fishing. the wind and the front coming through really pushed into shallow water early.

Hunting / Trapping / Re: Killer Bobcats

the interesting thing is that not very many bobcat were tagged or thought to be in the first area of the study but the number of fawns killed by the ones they were aware of was staggering. it suggest that if an area had a significant bobcat population this could have a very high impact on fawn recruitment and the overall deer heard.

Off Topic / warrior relief fund memorial day walk
« on: May 08, 2012, 07:35:36 PM »
thought I would share this great event
this is a walk of rememberance for all those in the armed forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
its on memorial day starts at lower harbor in marquette walk for I think a mile and a half then pause for a moment of silence and walk back.
its the second year they are doing this last year we had over 200 hundred people and we are trying to have even more this year there is no cost and anyone can do it.  they will acept donations on the day of the walk and buisnesses can buy signs to be placed along the route. all this money goes to the warrior relief fund that helps local soldiers who get hurt. if you have questions or need info let me know.

thanks Mike

Off Topic / Re: Tourist park fish "replenishment"

I think you have to look at what this areas is going to be used for. I am not saying I agree with this for the record I didnt want them to rebuiled the damn. But that is not the direction they decided to take they want to rebuild the park there it is called"tourist park". What I am saying is this shouldnt be surprising given the direction they took with this project. Sounds to me like it will be a very nice Park when they are done. I dont howevr think this is a good location for it.

Inland Lake Fishing / Re: water temps
« on: May 08, 2012, 01:51:12 PM »
thanks for sharing super yooper. I think this time of year if you have a generaly warm night with little to no wind the next morning/day fish are prone to be shallow. I read that on a cold or windy spring night shallow water temps can drop 10+ dgrees send fish back to deeper water. so this could be why you seen so many fish shallow
