Lake Superior / Huron River Mouth
« on: August 09, 2017, 06:59:26 PM »
I will be going on a camping trip made possible by Courage Incorporated, they help disabled veterans and others to experience trips like this. We will camping at the Huron River Mouth. I am a client and a volunteer so I will be taking my 14' boat to help. I need some advice on how to prepare, what can be caught in the river? What tackle might I need? If the weather is good we will go out on the big lake for some trolling, I already have that covered. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, my blind was about 40 feet off the road the buck dropped another 60 feet back, short drag out was not too hard as the leaves were wet and slippery. The day before just after noon my chair collapsed,   I fell over backwards, the blind tipped over, sandwich was everywhere, I kept my gun barrel pointed away from me ;D. I heard a deer crashing away :kick:. I layed there a few minutes as my back was hurting. Then I stopped by Gander and bought a new chair on the way home. The worst and best days back to back. If you want to see pictures of a 4 point I'll post them.

I shot a buck this morning. 4 point. My first buck, I have been hunting for years, have taken a few does. It feels good to finally get a buck. The Hornady slug dropped him on the spot. I thanked the deer for giving his life so I can have food.

Mike the Eyefly guy let me use some cans, there's 35 gallons in my garage, and the tank is out of the boat. And Mike needs them back in one month, so if I need to play musical gas cans I will need some more. I'm not planning on this job to take that long though. Thanks to Mike for the help

The band conductor is a 54 yo Chief Warrant Officer, he challenged a much younger Marine to a pushup contest, they were even until CWO Hayes beat the Staff Sergeant by doing one handers HoofreekingRah. It was the last performance for CWO Hayes, as he will be retiring, after 30 years of Marine Corps, an amazing Marine, Semper Fi.

I missed the SSFA meeting roll(), I went to see the Marine Corps band that night ;D. It was a hard choice. The tie breaker was that I would have a date with my wife at the USMC concert. Now, take it easy on me grin(), I know I am in for some teasing :kick: but what would you have done? What are the items discussed that I should know about?
