Has anyone noticed that back in the day one could search out Bluegill and Sunfish in Autrain?  They don't seem to be there anymore...

Hi folks... Just thought I'd mention that I just spent a week at camp on Autrain Lake 10th thru 16th.  I fished sporadically.  Mostly mid morning and early evening.  I had a tough time finding the walleye but had no problem finding some pike, rock bass, and the worm stripping perch.  But, one night between the time of 9pm and 10pm, I found a feeding time.  I caught 6 walleyes, and two of them were throw backs.  I used simply a weedless bullet sinker and a two hook crawler harness with a half a night crawler.  The walleye sure tasted good!  The funny part, during this time, it became dark and I had to use my radio/weather alert/flashlight to see what I was doing.  So, I learned the leason, pack the hat light!  So good luck for those on Autrain Lake. And believe me...there are walleyes in the lake!

Hi folks... I will be fishing Autrain Lake next week....  I have a cabin there and fish when ever I can.  The lake has some walleys, but the bigger fish are far and few between.  Last summer I hooked a 6 pounder..I think that is the biggest one I ever caught there.  Lots of hammer-handles....  But...if you can get two or three to make a meal, what else can you ask for!  I troll most of the time with crawler harnesses just outside the weed lines, and do some drifting with floaters in the deep holes..... Come join the fun!
