Lake Superior / Thinking Kings
« on: September 12, 2008, 11:57:10 AM »
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone is going to be fishing the full moon coming up. Any success?
I'm heading out tonight for the first night trip this year and wondering what you guys have been using.
I'm thinking just sending out everything glow: flasher/ fly's, spoons and a couple stick baits. Has anyone been using glow dipsy's, or just glow baits behind the regular chrome dipsy?? I have a couple wonderbread patterns as well. Thanks in advance for any input.

Lake Superior / Trout Slayer 12/20-12/23 Report
« on: December 23, 2007, 05:25:41 PM »
12/20
Went out to Houghton Pt. (Washburn, WI) on Thursday. Fished about 150 yards from open water with great action. Alot of small fish but ended the day catching 12 with a mixed bag of Splake, Browns & Cohos. Largest fish was a 23" Splake. Only kept the Salmon.

12/23
Went out to Houghton Pt. again just in the morning before the Packer game (I should have stayed fishing). Ended the morning with 4 fish, (3 Cohos and a Brown) Largest fish was the 19" Brown. Both days I did the best right on the 20' FOW ledges.
If anyone goes out there, be CAREFUL! There is alot of snow on the ice now and the most ice out there is about 3"-4" at best.

Lake Superior / First ice
« on: December 03, 2007, 02:55:39 PM »
Well, I made my first attempt on Lake Superior ice. Headed out on Chequamegon Bay and caught some Perch and a couple of small Walleyes. I was hoping to do a little better, but the ice conditions held me back from where I really wanted to go. Thickness varied from1" to 3" at best with a lot of new snow not helping any. Hopefully next weekend will be better!!  help()

Lake Superior / Apostle Islands 9/29 - 9/30
« on: October 01, 2007, 09:24:27 AM »
9/29 - Fished the Apostles Saturday. Went 12 for 15 with 5 Browns, 5 Lakers and 2 Cohos. Biggest fish was a 12 lb. Laker off a Pink Alewife Silver Streak in 150 FOW. Caught the Browns and Cohos shallow in 60 FOW or less. Kavorkian Jim's Flashback, Anuerism and another custom spoon were the best producers.
9/30 - Fished the river mouths until the Packer game going 4 for 4 with (3) nice Coho's and a small Brownie. Definitely smaller fish than yesterday. The Brown took a Hot Steel Minnow Rap, the Coho's took the Anuerism and my custom spoon. Great weekend on the water except for the heavy lightning Sunday morning.

Lake Superior / Hello
« on: September 26, 2007, 08:07:14 AM »
Hey there guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I've been reading the posts on here for some time and they are full of great info. I mostly fish Western Lake Superior in the Islands and sometimes hit Saxon Harbor. I will start posting as of this weekend. Thanks!
