Lake Superior / 2015 Munising Trout & Salmon Classic Results
« on: May 20, 2015, 03:21:58 PM »
We had a great turnout with 52 overall entries including 38 in the salmon and 14 in the trout

Salmon fishing was down a bit from last year but still had a 4 fish average per boat which isnt bad and there were some pretty impressive catches on the trout side to say the least. We paid out $14,900.00 CA$H along with nearly $5,000.00 in merchandise so needless to say some people walked away with a handful. We took that cash as far as we could and paid out 15 places in salmon and 7 in trout so the odds were pretty good to walk away with some cash. Thank you all for helping make this another successful year for this tournament. :thmb:

Congratulations to the big winners in the salmon (Team Cut Bait/Capt Toby Leppanen) and the trout (Team End of the Road/Capt Jim Barker)

New website design has been launched and has all the rules and registration info. Remember you can register and pay online.
www.fishmunising.com
No changes other than the $2000 from the trout division rolls over into this years over all pot. Below is an example based on 25 boats.

80% payback from 25 entrys       $3200.00
Roll over for cancelled trout div.   $2000.00
$2000 first prize both divisions     $4000.00

Guaranteed CA$H up for grabs     $9,200.00

Also, we are offering anyone that stays in a hotel in the munising area an entry into a drawing for 10 - $50 cash prizes. You must provide receipt from your hotel to be entered. Please remember that the munising vistitors bureau donates the $4000 first prizes and without them this tournament may never have gotten off the ground and surely would not have the incredible cash payouts like it does for such a small tournament. We ask that you please consider this while making your plans for this years tournament.

One other thing, Since we cancelled the Trout side of this tournament we decided to roll the $2000 first prize into next years tournament which mean 2015 = A LOT OF CA$H!!

Sure doesnt seem like it when you look outside, but it is coming up quickly. For those of you that did not make it last year $10,200.00 in cash and prizes were awarded during last years tournament and if the ice is gone we expect it to be more this year.

Also, please visit our website at www.fishmunising.com We added a nice feature where you can pre register using paypal through the site and not miss the $250 early bird drawing.

Lake Superior / Munising Trout & Salmon Classic Sponsors
« on: April 30, 2013, 01:09:06 PM »
Please take a second to check out the sponsorship list. The Fire Department had a pretty overwhelming sponsorship response to us taking this tournament over.

As we sit right now based on 20 boats we have right around $9,500 in cash and merchandise to give away . Do the math and those are pretty good odds you'll walk away with something good!!

Keep an eye out for our TV6 ad campaign.....some of you guys might show up on there as there were photos taken from the water from previous years tournament.

Trout/Salmon / Northland Taxidermy 41lb Lake Trout Mount
« on: November 12, 2012, 07:53:34 PM »
Randy Desormeau of Northland Taxidermy out of Sault St Marie MI is the man! Guys got a list of credentials a mile long and his work clearly shows it.

Capt John says....."with a fish like that do not even think about taking it to anyone else".....I was not disappointed and the referral is much appreciated.

The guy got it done 1 1/2 months ahead of when he said he would have it complete.....didn't think that happened in the world of taxidermy!

Might find this useful when you don't have computer access. Pretty damn quick, data came back within seconds.

1. Look up the buoy station ID at http://bit.ly/ndbcstations

2. Text the station number (in the body of the message) to 734-418-7299
