They can be picked up in Houghton for $20, a case of Old Milwaukee Light, and a bottle of Strawberry Hill Boones Farm.

Product Reviews / USCG app for phone
« on: June 28, 2016, 10:15:26 PM »
Has anybody ever used this app for your phone. From what I understand it is an app from the u.s. Coast Guard that allows you to push one button on your phone and it sends a distress signal with your GPS coordinates. Granted you probably need a cell signal for it to work but might be something handy to put on your phone.

Product Reviews / Fiber tech Productions taxidermy
« on: June 21, 2016, 09:23:57 PM »
A friend of mine recently got a 44 inch lake trout mounted by this company in Brainerd, MN. Replica. http://www.fibertechproductions.com/

Turned out pretty well. All he had was a few pictures of the fish in the water (released without touching it). What is amazing is 10 day turnaround. Cost him $600 and only took 10 days.

Inland Lake Fishing / Take a kid fishing
« on: June 05, 2016, 11:08:36 PM »
Today I took my youngest daughter to a local bluegill Lake, she caught as many fish as she wanted to catch and she told me that she wanted to eat some for supper. So we kept four six inch bluegills, and I cook them for her and she ate the entire batch. If anyone is in the Manistique area and wants to take their kids fishing contact me and I will tell you where to take them and how to fish. The city has a very good setup to get kids interested in fishing and this is something that should not go unnoticed. She had so much fun and it was very easy for everyone.

Send me a message if interested and I will give you his phone number.

Product Reviews / DU-Ha under seat gun case
« on: April 08, 2016, 06:46:04 PM »
The company claims these are legal and your gun is considered cased. Anyone have one of these or know if your weapon would actually be considered legally cased if in this box (under seat storage box for pickups).

Trout/Salmon / Derby / tournament dates 2016
« on: February 01, 2016, 10:39:01 PM »
Those of us that don't put much effort towards ice fishing tend to spend the winter months waiting for open water season. Seems to be a derby / tournament going on every weekend somewhere in the UP during the summer months. Anyone got any specific dates for 2016. Or, does anyone have a favorite they would highly recommend attending? Many of us love to fish these but have to ask for time off well in advance, or at least it helps to do so. I know most are held on the same weekend each year, but that varies slightly.

I know Grand Marais has been announced and is June 25th / 26th, with the captains meeting on the 24th.

Any other ones with dates that are set?

I can honestly say I have not fished a derby / tournament in the UP that isn't a ton of fun. All depends on your attitude. If you enter with a goal to take home money, well you will likely be disappointed...Enter them because you like to fish and hang out with other fisherman...anything you win is a bonus. Most support local communities. If you like to fish, why not fish somewhere you have a chance to win money.

I fish Munising, Manistique, and Grand Marais tournaments every year for sure. All are amazing, have great prizes, and are very well run. The nice thing is they are all different.

Any dates available to plan our summer vacations?

Classifieds/Buy/Sell / Subtroll speed and temp gauge - $150
« on: June 03, 2015, 09:58:52 PM »
Probe and 150 feet of coated cable included also, along with unit. No wiring though. Could not pull the stuff through the boat.

Everything works fine, if it doesn't I will make it right. Can deliver on my schedule or can be picked up from Manistique. Would make a good back up unit for someone who already has one.
