Boat and Tackle Setups / WANTED Scotty downrigger booms
« on: January 31, 2017, 11:31:34 AM »
Long story, but I recently purchased some new / used Scotty HP downriggers. Unbeknownst to me they made a version without the extendable booms. I never checked....

So if anyone has Scottys with the 1 1/4" extendable booms that they don't use the extention, and want to make a few bucks I'm looking to swap out the fixed 30" ones for some extendable ones (with $ to boot of course).

I know it's a long shot, but figure it doesn't hurt to check.

FYI, found this on another site. Might help to shed some light on the bait issue (good or bad).....

Lake Michigan anglers can now share fish finder images with USGS scientists. Dr. David Warner (dmwarner@usgs.gov) is accepting e-mailed images of bait balls along with the following info:

Are anglers seeing bait where biologists are not?

Classifieds/Buy/Sell / Primos Turbo Dogg electric predator call SOLD
« on: February 20, 2016, 11:46:44 AM »
The Primos Turbo Dogg “Speaks The Language” with 36 sounds and 4 pre-programmed Expert Hunts. Expert Hunts are calling sequences that allow you to have Randy Anderson and other Team Primos members actually calling for you.  The Turbo Dogg is turbo charged by a 25 watt amp and a horn speaker that produces long reaching and ultra-realistic frequency ranges. The rotating speaker allows for maximizing sound projection over terrain.

Simple to use remote can be operated quickly with one hand and has a range of 150 yards. The sound list menu is displayed on an easy to read 1.75" full color LCD screen and sounds are organized by species such as coyote, fox, bobcat, deer, elk, etc. It comes with a USB port so you can download & store over 500 sounds.

Bought last year and called in a few yotes. Excellent entry level call to get you into predator hunting without spending a lot of money.

Boat and Tackle Setups / Artificial ice
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:34:52 AM »
No, not the stuff at the hockey rink.

Wondering if anyone has tried any of the higher end artificial ice packs in their fish coolers. I see Yeti makes some that are probably good, but way expensive.  I'm looking at the Artic ice brand on Amazon and they get good reviews. Looks like there's different formulas for super cold, but short lasting and some that last longer.

Anyone use them? Seems easier and possibly better than freezing ice blocks.
