Classifieds/Buy/Sell / Re: WTB 150 -200 hp 2 stroke outboard
« on: August 17, 2017, 12:18:43 PM »
On minnesota craigslist i saw a 200 hp Johnson Venom 1996 with all controls for $3k. Such a gamble. I was literally in the same boat last year. After dealing with some doozies and peoples
Problems they were trying  to sell i went new. More money up front but the wrong purchase used can have you throwing good money after bad. I bought off season and happy with the results. Very frustraing to get there though. Good luck but we can get out in my boat if you would anytime!

I am working night shift again for the weekend. I could however stop in during the day and your team could put me to work again. Lots of fun just helping at the dock last year.

Are these all single fish weighed or a combination of all fish weighed?
Good luck to all fishing and stay safe out there

In Munising at the Pictured Rocks Interprative Center is a fish that looks like that and labeled as a "humper" says supposedly found out off deepwater shoals off shore? Not sure exactly how it was phrased or if it was a local term? I had not heard that reference before.

Trout/Salmon / Re: Big Jon counter issues...

Try measuring out 70 ft set the counter to match 70 then dont worry when it goes backward around 0 to 990 or 980 to start. The rest could be several reasons from much more or less cable changing spool size this ratio to counter etc..

Kaykay boys told me the fisherman at the end of tbe road contacted the net owner. Insured it was removed and gear is being returned. Hats off to the Peterson fishery for helping out.

Lake Michigan / Confirmed Net along Big Summer
« on: July 02, 2017, 11:45:52 PM »
Got a confirmation from the crew on board that they ran into a net along big summer in Fairport Sunday morning. They saw the net on the graph pulled the boat down woth water coming in from seas behind. Clipped off riggers and 2 dipsy rigs 17 ft boat that has been fishing there for the past 20 + years. So watch your stuff they fished that same water same track lines several times this year including Saturday. Yikes it was marked but its wide they claim another boat said they ended up close enough to see a bouy underwater. Be carefull all.

Got a report today at least 1 boat in Fairport lost most of their gear in aNet part way down summer island following the same track line they ran saturday. Sounds like they were lucky to have side cutters there and at the ready.

Now this will change the subject a little but my daughter and i hunt together in the same blind. She looks North i look West i was told i can only have 2 gallons of bait even though we each have a liscence. To me we should be allowed 4 gallons as long as were both there and the bait sites are separated by like 50-60 yards or more.ugh...

It has nothing to do with pursuit and it is discussions that i have had since seeing the original show and not just discussions on here but with others. I would have to guess everybody has had the what if discusdions at camp or on the boat from everything deer blinds to bait to you name it. Just kind of interesting to see what others think. Part of it came from a discussion with a CO  a few years back in regards to limits in various states and provinces verse coming back to a home state  with limits being very different. If i get a chance to fish a tournament i am not going to inventory my freezer  before i enter.
