Off Topic / Technical difficulties
« on: March 08, 2018, 10:17:45 AM »
Sorry everyone for the technical difficulties over the last few days. Huge thanks to Josh Petrovich for getting the site back up and running.
I’m pretty sure everything is back working again for both upangler.com and southshorefishing.com.

Sorry so late responding, didn’t see this post. The original post is old, but I still have the side x side and winch. I have never had a problem with it and it has been plenty of winch for what i’ve Used it for, pulling side side out of mud over floorboards, moving logs off trails, and pulling four wheelers out from broken ice that sunk into mud :)
I would definitely buy the same winch again.

Selling for a family member.

I'm not sure if this was posted anywhere else on the forums or not, thought it was interesting.

I haven't been out but I commend Chris on an honest report.  :thmb:
It would have been just as easy for him to say "best bite ever, you need these hard to find lures that only I sell"

Thanks Rick, i'll see if i can find that video Online.
I talked with another forum member who had offered me some help (thanks Kevin). I think i'm decided on where amid when to get the bees, now i just need to make the hive, i'm still debating a top bar hive or Langstroth hive.
I do have bears wander through the yard every couple years in the spring, i'll have to keep that in kind when setting the hive.
Thanks for the tips,

In keeping with my theme of trying every hobby out there at least for a while, I plan on trying to keep honey bees this spring.
Anyone have any advice/tips? I'm in the middle of winter research with books, videos, forums. I've talked with a few online places that ship bee packages, but has anyone ordered a package, or have any experience with any companies? Most of the sites that I talked to want you to put a deposit down, then when it gets closer to shipping time, pay the balance.
I plan on making a top bar hive, so dont' want to order a NUC.

Off Topic / Michigan bill 5996 horseshit
« on: November 04, 2016, 05:57:22 PM »
I apologize if someone posted this already, but i saw a facebook post saying this bill was introduced in reference to "assault rifle regulation act". I read one website that said this bill was effectivley killed, but just goes to show what some people want...

Here are some nuggets from this bill:
One part was that if you didn't turn in your horrible assault rifle, the state police could inspect to ensure gun was locked up "once per year".

Registration with state police, then annual registration renewals after that.
Once registered, the owner would have to update their registration every year and could only possess it in working order at shooting ranges or their own property, with the transport to and from being unloaded and in a secured container.

South Shore Fishing Association / Veterans fishing day
« on: June 06, 2016, 12:44:06 PM »
The other day I was at the VA hospital in iron mountain and while waiting for my next appointment I overheard one of the VA reps telling a veteran about the veteran fishing day that the SSFA puts on in Marquette. He said it was awesome and for all types of vets, he said he went last year and loved it,, he was telling the guy that they clean the fish for you, it was all inclusive, etc...
Just thought it was neat to hear some people talking about how great and appreciated it was.
Good job.

Walleye / Walleye tournament in escanaba this weekend
« on: May 20, 2016, 10:03:33 AM »
Has anyone heard how the pro's have been doing pre-fishing?
I can't understand why the tournament would come to town the week of the walleye opener, i thought it was usually mid summer to get people in town. Maybe this was the only time the circuit could make it schedule wise?
Just seems like an odd time.
