I hunt north delta county, no bunnies there for that last 8 or 10 years. Way too many coyotes nowadays.

If you pull your seater stem you will see a cup or hole beveled to take the tip of the bullet.  Make sure there are no burrs on that, you may get a faint ring where this contacts your bullet if, no big deal, if it is very heavy or dented there you have to much pressure seating.  This is what I use to measure loaded rounds, it measures on the ojive of the bullet instead of tip.  https://www.hornady.com/reloading/precision-measuring/precision-tools-and-gauges/lock-n-load-bullet-comparator

The rabbit population has been in the toilet for several years in the Marquette/Dickinson County area. Much more than a cycle thing. How did the sign look in the areas you hunt, late this deer season?

?? what he said.  I believe it's called a comparator that you need to measure off the ogive.

If 2 thousandths +/- is not acceptable to you, you may have a tough road ahead.

It is the hollowpoint, take measurements off the ojive of the bullet.  Take out five random bullets and measure the length and see what you get.  Measuring from the ojive is more consistant

Check your shell holder and where it snaps onto the press ram. Also take apart your seating die and make sure there's no junk in there.
