The DSI is not very adaptable to ice fishing. The 455/800 KH transducers are not available in an ice fishing version. A better bet would be to look at a Showdown Troller. They can be found in the Marquette area on clearance for about $125.

The Elite-5 DSI is down scan only. The ice 'ducer is the wrong frequency.

Build a tray or a box for the battery and unit.  Head to Fastenal pick up a unistrut angle bracket.  A bolt or two some threaded rod and you are in business.  It usually takes a little adjusting to get the transducer pointing straight.

I am unable to overcome the technical challenge of posting images with a Chromebook.  I made the horrid mistake of allowing Windows 10 to supplant Windows 7 on my laptop, rendering the laptop nearly useless.  PM if you want I can show you if you are near Negaunee.

My unit is mark 5x pro i use a suction cop on the transducer and put a 5"x5" piece of heavy plastic on an old wood tip up and stick it in the hole with transducer stuck to it! Not as conveniant as an ice ducer but looking at Lowrance site im not sure the ice ducers offered would work with this unit? If anybody know for sure be good info to have.

I saw a picture on iceshanty of a skimmer transducer modified for ice fishing with two zip ties. They made a 4" loop in the cable just above the transducer with one tie. They put the other tie through the mounting hole in the transducer and around the first loop to make it hang right. I saw it in the last month and I can't find it for the life of me now.

Kevin- I thought you were referring to the OP. Your unit has an 83/200 khz transducer. The 200 khz ice 'ducer will work with your machine. Just make sure it has the same color connector as your factory skimmer 'ducer.

Sorry I missed your repost.  I PM'd you.

Its merely a matter of a power source, a container and adapting your skimmer transducer to point in a hole.  I happened to use SS brackets and rod, rubber bands and wood dowel could work.

My unit fit in a nice little cooler i bought at Menards. Its insulated water proof and offers some padded protection. Makes a nice compact case.
