We've been getting some in Luce county, approx. 100 so far over the course of 4 excursions. My feelings are the best is yet to come, but whether that holds true or not, I sure love walking around in the woods this time of year.

What timber stand types are you finding them in?  Have seen a couple of beefsteaks, but no morels yet.

Well it's been slow since things got real dry, only found a few over the weekend and they were already dehydrated. My best spot for the last couple years has been a recent clearcut of jack pine and scattered aspen. I'm thinking that if we get some rain Saturday and it stays warm, the first few days next week might be killer. I've also been finding a lot of beefsteaks this year, especially since the soil got dry, more of those than anything.

Thanks! I am surprised at how quickly the ground has dried-out after all of the rain...1
