Has anybody been doing any bass fishing lately? I wanna get out and catch some big smallies and largemouths.

ya josh if your in my spots LOL try fishing toward bottom. I catch all my bass 60 feet down and ill just use a 10 pound cannon ball then put a fish hawk on that and thats what i use for my sinker. make sure ya use 1000 pound braid and a size 30 hook anything bigger will spook em.  tongue()

yea most of them use 50 or 65 pound braid the lightest I've ever heard of was 14 pound fluro for a finesse rig

We were out the other night in Republic. My brother had his inlaws and some of their family up for the weekend. We ended up catching a lot of bass, a pike, and lots of blue gill and perch. The bass were hitting anything we put in the water! Both large and smallmouth. I talked to a couple of guys on the lake and they said the fishing has been red hot for a while now!
