2010 Marquette Bay Classic (Shore Help Needed)
« on: September 01, 2010, 10:17:54 AM »

The tourny is just around the corner!  1 week from this Saturday, on September 11th at 6am!

I know most guys are fishing in the derby, but if you know anyone who is not and would like to help out on shore, for an hour or two, or all day, please let me know.  Myself and the other crew members can handle the mid-day live release weigh-in, which you are welcome to stay for as well, but we need help in the early morning and then again in the afternoon to cover all the different docks people leave from.

-Heres what I need...

2 people at the Upper Harbor boat launch/Presque Isle Marina to check in boats and pass out poker chips for coolers. Be there by 5a.m. and stay until 7a.m.

2 people at the Cinder Pond Marina/boat launch/ from 5a.m. until about 7a.m. for the same task.

4-5 people at the Lower Harbor Wall/Weigh-in around 2p.m. until about 4 or so to help dock boats, unload coolers, help people get on shore, direct foot traffic, etc....

If you or anyone you know may be interested in helping out for any legnth of time during the day, please contact me at 906-250-1052 and let me know!  Every year we try to make things go smoother than the last, and are always looking to improve in any way we can.  Constructive suggestions are welcome on anything you think we can do better.

Thanks Guys!  Remember, the Captains meeting, Raffles, and  :drunk:  :drunk: are NEXT FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH, at Marquette Mountain.

Hope to see lots of you guys there!

Not tryin to ruffle any feathers here but why not get rid of the LIVE RELEASE... Ya i think its a good idea but lets be realistic, how many actually make it past the breakwall before they are tits up...(especially the salmon) That way you would only need half the people to help... The format for the spring tournament seemed to work pretty well....

John, what time does the captains meeting start at Marquette Mt?  I'll be driving up from Crystal Falls and don't want to miss anything......  Pretty much the same format as the spring tourney with the exception of live release?
