Chantrelle mushrooms
« on: August 06, 2012, 08:22:33 AM »

I saw some mushrooms over the weekend and tentatively identified them as chantrele mushrooms. They were white.

I can find chantrelles in my mushroom guide, but none that are white. Is there anyone who is familar with them in this area?

Yes I have eaten plenty of the tasty little buggers. They are light orange or a mixture of light orange/light salmon color. I have never seen white ones.

Yeah, white and everywhere, so probably not chantrelles.

Thats how mushrooms are. You think you hit it when suddenly—failure.

Thanks
