Sam, there isn't as much to do during the Spring Shootout as there is during the fall tourney, so everything should be covered. Thanks for offering to help but if I were you I'd take Arn up on his offer.

I was gonna take ya up on your offer there ARN but my brother in law talked me into going turkey shooting that morning. He got his gobbler this past weekend and had several other nice toms with one monster figured out. If its anything like 2 years ago ill be tagged out in 2 hrs!  good luck to all who fish it! I went out with a buddy, iron mike, on the old tangles boat sat and got skunked.

So you are thinking a 25 knot NNW wind may make a few bumps on the water?

We might have to get out the ice fishing clothing for Saturday ...... The forecast has been changing quite a bit lately, though!  So who knows....

Hopefully more west then north winds. Strong west would just keep the captain busy staying the course and speed.

40 deg with rain and 4-6 footers you guys can have it - there is no lake trout or salmon worth that misery.  I think I would rather stab myself in the eye with a fork

I agree with you. Fishing is suppose to be fun. Finding ways to be miserable is really not that tough.

I contacted NWS-Marquette this morning to get a real-person update for the weather forecast on Saturday, explaining to them that we have a fishing tournament scheduled for the day.  I was told that there is currently a SCA for Marquette area, but the SCA is scheduled to expire Friday night.  Winds are forecasted to be from the SSW at 10 knots Friday late night through early Saturday morning, BUT switching to NNW at 20 sustained, gusts to 30 sometime before noon.  SSFA Board is watching the weather and a go/no go decision will be announced by tomorrow afternoon.  In the event that the tournament is cancelled, we intend to attempt to get the cancellation notice on TV 6 news and radio, as well as here un UP Angler.  If the tournament is cancelled, it will be re-scheduled for next Saturday, May 18th, with sign up on Friday, same location, same times.  Also, if the tournament is cancelled and you have already submitted your entry fee and application but choose to not fish the alternative date, you will be given a full refund.

Thanks,

Mylan
