Today's boil was much better.  It had the golden early season color and yield was WAY up.

My yield has been way up lately, not sure why but significantly compared to earlier.  And the sap has been running pretty strong even in cold.  Boiled 18 gal Saturday and got well over a half gallon, light in color too.  Doesn't make sense but am not complaining.  Good stuff!

I got better numbers on my last batch as well but I am starting to get a darker color.  I've been running the wood stove 24/7 for several days now trying to keep up with my 20 taps.  If the sap tapers off this weekend when we get warmer weather it wouldn't hurt my feelings any.

Haven't had much sap run the last couple days but I'm calling it a year.   I'm half a gallon over my normal quota so I'm good.  Last boil gave me almost a half gallon and still was very light in color and clear.   Cooked it a little longer to thicken it up and it came out great.  Was a pretty good year in my book!  My buddy won't let me pull the taps yet because he wants some sap to give it a try so I'll leave them in for a bit more and see how much syrup he wants to make.

It was a good year. We boiled 450 gallons of sap for a total of 10 gallons of syrup. Good color, and better sugar content than last year. We averaged 45:1 on the year and as always it was a lot of fun, but time to pull taps and turn to dodging ice bergs.

Finished season with 21.5 gallons off 75 taps. Was out of town last week so didn't boil. I am done for the season time to clean everything up for next year. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

Finished with 16.5 gallons but ratio for the whole season was 32:1.  Had one boil that was 27:1.  I'm happy after seeing what other people got.
