How did everyone do with the trout opener?
« on: April 30, 2016, 10:25:18 PM »

Had two small girls and the gf in tow but we hit some rivers from Iron river to covington to kenton and skunked it up good and just drowned a few worms.  Just bank fishing no waders but the kids seem to have a good time.  Some ole timers told the waitress in Bruce Crossing they were there for burgers as they didn't catch any so I guess that eased the pain and little.  Every bridge, culvert and trail near a stream had a truck or two parked, it was a busy day out there.

My 8yo granddaughter wants to post a few emojis as she's sitting next to me:  :dance2:  :poke:

Fished the W. Branch of the Escanaba, which was pretty high, cold, and dirty in my neck of the woods. So opener turned into more of a wood cutting and splitting day.
Only managed one fish, just a teaser of things to come..
