Manistique July 18th thru 20th
« on: July 17, 2016, 06:31:42 PM »

Will be arriving in Manistique from Manistee, MI tomorrow late afternoon/early evening.
Hope to get a dock at the city marina if they have openings.

If you'd like make me an honorary yooper with a handshake, please stop
by my boat.  I brought tackle for freebees for those I meet.  Probably best time is 1 to 3pm.

Thanks for the help I received from members of this message board with valuable info that
was sent via private message.

I have a 1979 Sea Ray that looks like this:

Here's the number for the marina in Manistique (just stayed there Friday night)...just call before you leave or on your way up and make your reservation.  It is across the river from the boat launch, so having the slip reserved and slip number a head of time might save you some time and energy.  Good luck and welcome to the U.P.!

Howdy John. Hope you had a good trip. Your tackle has caught a lot of fish out of Manistique. It has also won a couple of the derby's over the past few years!

I love the UP and quality of fisherman that live there.  With the help of fishermen on this board was able
to put together a decent trip and learn a new port.  I was wonderful plain and simple.

I had to go to a port with bait, none in Manistee to speak of.  If there fish food?  you'll have silver fish.
Knew Manistique has slowed a little bit, but this port had piles of bait.  Stuffed full of 2-3 inch alewives in their stomachs!

Thanks to those I was able to meet in person a few folks dockside, all be it may we were fishing most of the day
on the 20th, and we made the best of it.

Here's some pics I hope everyone enjoys:
